I’m a huge UFC fan and mma fanatic so when Kimbo bust onto the scene it was a sideshow. At first I must admit I didn’t like him, but hey I didn’t know anything about him other than he’s getting a lot of attention when he shouldn’t. I waited for the day he would be revealed as a phony and sure enough it came.
Well now he is on the ultimate fighter and the fans finally get to see the real Kimbo Slice for what he is. A good man, a family man, a loveable guy, dedicated fighter and a genuine soul. A genuine soul with knockout power. I quickly became a Kimbo fan like many and was rooting for the guy to see him succeed.
That however did not happen. His loss came quick and was heavily out wrestled, but what he did win is a larger fan base that wants to see him fight and win not because of his spectacle like ko’s but because he is a great guy and interesting character.
That is why he is a winner and why Dana White sees so much marketing potential in him.
